A little mouse-y magic

Oooh, sparkly, sparkly!
What a downer that last post was, right?  Thinking about my weight issues always puts me in a depressive mood so I think it's time for a perkier post. Something mouse-y and wedding-y and generally good.  So to give my amazing Prince Charming some of the credit he's due, I'll discuss his proposal.

We'd been living together for three years so it's not like we didn't have plans in mind for marriage. We'd gone to a few jewelery stores together to shop around for a ring and I knew the big proposal was coming sooner rather than later.  I tried really hard not to think about it too much.I couldn't help myself though.  I am a big mushy, sappy, romance-loving girl.

Standing in the kitchen one evening, cleaning up from dinner, Prince Charming dramatically paused and asked, "Do you want me to do it sooner or do you want me to do The Grand Plan?"

There was no doubt I wanted The Grand Plan.  I wanted something insane and romantic and special that would make for a great story.  Admittedly, I had a "grand plan" in my own head about what I wanted and I didn't think it was possible for him to pull it off and I didn't want to set myself up for disappointment.

Talk of engagement gave way to other things and we started planning a trip to Atlanta for Prince Charming's annual Atlanta Falcons Message Board Get Together (MBGT).  PC is a HUGE Atlanta Falcons fan, even though he's a Pennsylvania boy through and through.  I let him handle the details like hotel and flights and everything else, with one exception: what are we doing while we're in Atlanta?  We would have free time on Friday and we haven't done much touristy stuff so I did a little research and determined that we should go see the World of Coca-Cola downtown.

Apparently the Coca-Cola thing is popular and they recommend that you purchase the times tickets in advance.  So I asked my prince for his credit card and he said no.  He said NO! This was unheard of!  This had never happened before.  He claimed he wanted to play it by ear.

Then, a week before our trip, I'd had a particularly bad afternoon with the kids and I was tired and complaining and swore that in Atlanta I was going to sleep really late.  He laughed and asked if I wanted to bet on that.

The man was dropping clues and I was beginning to get suspicious.

When we arrived at the airport Prince Charming handed me my e-ticket and said, "Oh, I forgot to tell you that we have a stopover."   I looked at the ticket and itinerary and it said we were going to Orlando.  Orlando?  ORLANDO!!!!! And then because I'm an idiot when it comes to numbers crunching, I thought that the stopover was for three hours instead of two nights.  I am a dork.  And then I figured it out and cried because I'm all girlie like that and I knew right then what was coming.

It was confirmed when we were checking into All-Star Music and the clerk handed Prince Charming two "Just Engaged" buttons.  Oops!  I didn't mention them or raise an eyebrow or make eye contact with my sweetie.  I just let it go.

The next morning we got dressed and headed to the Magic Kingdom.  With only one day in the parks, where else would we go?  We walked up Main Street, stopped to do some shopping and walked up to the Partners circle to get a Photopass picture taken.  Can you guess where this is going?

If I'd known this was happening I would have made our clothes clash a little less.

There was hugging and tears and all in all, a completely magical moment.  We went on to have the best day in the MK.  We barely waited in any lines and went on all our favorite rides.  For dinner we managed to get a table at Ohana, our favorite WDW restaurant that never has any openings.  We saw the Electric Light Parade and the Wishes fireworks together for the first time (more tears!) and then relaxed in the pool for a little while before crashing out for the day.

And then we were off to Atlanta.
